The Government will also soon convene a conference of the State Legal Metrology Department at Delhi to discuss the matter, he said. The Bureau of Indian Standards has recently finalised the Indian Standard on basic requirements for street food vendors. The minister also released the Indian Standards on Good Manufacturing Practises, Good Hygeinic Practises and Food Retail Management at a seminar here on “Food Safety — Role of Standards” organised by the BIS.
