Our registered consumer Mr. Dilip Joshi has complained us against Star Health & Allied Insurance Co. Ltd, for intentionally denying medical claim of his wife, who was hospitalized on 5th January 2012 at 15:21 hrs at Ahmedabad city. Patient was admitted in the hospital after doctor’s diagnosis of bilateral paraditis. She was discharged from hospital on 06/01/2012 at 18:33 hrs. According to the complaint sent by our consumer, he alleged that Star Health & Allied Insurance Co has deliberately denied approving the claim.
He owned a mediclaim policy of Star Health & Allied Insurance Company Limited from 20th July’11 with an expectation of an effective customer service as he was promised and considering the need for the health insurance of the family. But he was disappointed after denying medical claim which was submitted under the illness of his spouse, despite of having communicated repeatedly with insurance company and even after producing all the required necessary documents.
CONSUMER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTRE had understand that this is a case of deficiency in service and Star Health & Allied Insurance Co. Ltd has violated the clause of Consumer Protection Act,1986. Therefore CPERC asked to Star health to finalize total reimburse of complainant’s mediclaim within seven working days, and also ultimate the Star Health that consumer have right to knock the consumer court for getting justice.
