MUMBAI: The Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission recently upheld a district forum order and directed an international airline to reimburse the costs of a formula one tickets to two south Mumbai residents.
The duo could not watch the event in Bahrain due to a delay at the airport caused by missing baggage. The commission ordered Jazeera Airways to pay Hanoz Sukeshwalla and Nekzaad Vakil, Rs 16,332 each alongwith six percent interest from 2009, and Rs 5,000 each for causing mental agony.
In 2009, Grant Road resident Sukeshwalla, and Colaba resident Vakil, had booked air tickets with the airlines and they left India on April 26, 2009.
However, when they arrived in the country they realised that their baggage was missing. The resulting delay ensured that they missed the event. They also had to purchase certain items of necessity.
