PUNE: The Maharashtra government on Friday released its final Real Estate(Regulation and Development) Act rules, which have been largely welcomed for being pro-consumer, anti-discriminatory and strict on developers. The rules will come into effect from May 1.
According to the rules, builders have to make disclosures of all their projects with the RERA authority from the coming month, including the ongoing project plans, without making any discrimination while handing over the projects.
The state government has conformed to the central RERA Act 2016 while preparing the rules for developers and real-estate agents in Maharashtra.
State housing minister Prakash Mehta told TOI that the rules have been kept pro-consumer and there is no dilution of the central Act.
